The effects of bullying have been evident on the students in the different aspects of the educational context. Furthermore, verbal bullying is a problem in the EFL Colombian educational context, and its influence is not only limited by the academic area, but it has psychological consequences in the social environment of the students, shaping the power relations inside the classroom through symbolic violence manifestations, this situation requires a deep study of its features. To achieve this goal we examine the postulations of authors such as Olweus (1993), Bourdieu (1997) and Vygotsky (1933), who establish the different key components of how students interaction happens and is affected during the English learning process, most of all, the development of their communicative skills. This study shows how verbal bullying phenomena affects directly the learning process fo the students during the English class. To argue this the authors used data collection techniques such as journals, questionnaires, and interviews. The results obtained showed that verbal bullying manifestations can directly affect student´s interaction, communicative skills development and the establishment of trustful relationships among each other.
