This article presents an analysis of different optimization methodologies in order to make an objective comparison between metaheuristic optimization and convex optimization in distribution networks, through the inclusion of distributed generation in them, the tool used for implementation and obtaining results is Matlab software. The objective is to determine the optimal size of the DGs to be integrated into the networks, in order to reduce the active power losses (objective function) of the distribution networks.
