This research is part of the language, discourse and knowledge line of the specialization in Children, Culture and Development of the Francisco José de Caldas District University. This paper aims to identify the discourses of mothers in the process of breastfeeding in a kindergarten of the UPZ 82 Kennedy, in order to recognize their knowledge and cultural practices. To demonstrate the transformations that have suffered the ancestral knowledge that mothers have and the reasons they have for abandoning breastfeeding, in addition to knowing the support provided by health entities and the supply of substitutes and milk substitutes, before new family dynamics in which the woman act is an actress as a mother, student and business. Taking this to recognize the importance of respecting and experiencing knowledge and customs that each woman brings from her place of origin and how they can be involved in strategies that promote breastfeeding as the Nursing Family Friendly Rooms.
