In this project there was realized the calculation of the trace of carbon in the faculty of Sciences and Education of the University Distrital Francisco José de Caldas for; in this document there were identified and were analyzed all the different components that are realized inside the facilities of a daily way and that have an importance of a direct or indirect way that they imply an environmental impact. For this motive I qualify of the following way where the scope 1 there is the direct emission that are those who have to do that it has to do with sources that it is of property or they have to do with the organization; The scope 2 are the indirect emission that 3 are associated with the electricity of the organization and the scope it is other indirect emission that are an optional scope that has account for the achievement of the calculation (greenhouse effect gas Protocol, 2005); Bearing in mind the previous thing and the methodology of the gas protocol of greenhouse effect realized the greenhouse effect gas quantification to be able to come to the reduction of the emission in this faculty by means of strategies that they help to the decrease of the entire emission of the District University Francisco José de Caldas. This investigation was conducted as a part of the master plan for climate change mitigation of the District Francisco José de Caldas is done by the group dedicated to the research of the resources and climate change (GIRCA) therefore was only carried out the calculation of the carbon footprint for the faculty and is only a part of the general investigation being conducted by the research group.
