This work describes the stages and activities carried out for the generation of thematic cartography during the development of the update of the technical, environmental, legal, financial and social feasibility studies of the public transportation system of San Andrés and Providencia, in the company Ivarsson y Asociados Ltda. The three stages developed sought: the achievement and editing of basic geographic information for the creation of cartography, concentrating this information in a geographic database; knowledge of the context of mobility within the archipelago from the studies to be updated corresponding to the mobility plan of San Andrés and Providencia “All included” of the year 2014 and the study called “Detailed operational design of the public transportation system of San Andrés and Providencia, and a legal, financial and economic evaluation that allows establishing the viability of the public-private partnership scheme in the implementation of the 2018 project, which would finally serve as a basis for the creation of thematic mapping for the company, contributing to the visualization of the territorial variables sufficient for the understanding of mobility on the islands, thus allowing to fully ratify or invalidate the viability of an electric public transport system in the archipelago.
