This document presents the process of designing and programming a rotary shaft for a laser cutting machine that, due to its robustness, allows to perform hardware upgrades by adding independent movements or axes through the addition and adaptation of Aerotech® amplifiers to execute Works with complex movements, specifically the cutting of structural pipes of different geometries up to nominal inches (152.4 mm) In addition, it describes the design process of the fastening systems of the material, the model of the rotary axis integrated to the machine, the software used for both communication and programming of the selected engines and a simulation of the cut.
