Identificación de Tendencias de Opinión Mediante el Análisis de la Red Social “Twitter”: Caso Elecciones Presidenciales 2018

Abstract:

There is a lot of information and opinions about different topics of interest available on social networks, such as twitter, but this information is not centralized, this is relevant and indispensable to help people and possibly companies in making decision. Taking into account the above, a study of opinion trends was conducted using data mining techniques and data analysis, focusing on the social network Twitter, since Colombia it´s approaching a new presidential election "2018" generating great interest in the subject, information was collected on how a country makes its opinion known through this social network, expressing its positions, ideologies and political inclinations, with which it is intended to choose a new head of state. Through the analysis made it was evident that the information published on Twitter can be used as a reference tool for the study of social trends that facilitate the understanding of the results in order to contribute to making decision.
