This final report presents the results of an investigation carried out on the students' references to reality in a mathematical modeling process from a realistic perspective. A case study was developed with a group of seventh grade students in a private school in the city of Bogotá, evidencing references from the students about the real, the false and the potential of the imaginary, in addition, the possible relationship of such references in the processes of creating and validating mathematical models, in order to contribute to teachers' sense of reality.
