Distribución vertical y cuantificación del banco de semillas de retamo espinoso Ulex europaeus L. en la zona de inundación del embalse de Tominé, Guatavita - Colombia
Quantification of the seed bank of gorse (Ulex europaeus) was carried out on two plots belonging to the Pilot Research Area in Ecological Restoration APIRE Reservoir of Tominé. 28 points were sampled on each plot, each sample was taken at a depth of 20 cm and divided into four sub-samples of 5 cm each. After this, implementing the direct counting method, the number of seeds for each depth interval was established, obtaining that the depth level with the greatest number of seeds was 0. 5 cm with between 2,608 and 2,114 seeds / m2. It was also identified the vertical distribution of seeds where it was found that the amount of seeds decreased as the depth increased, although up to 20 cm of depth there was a considerable amount of seeds in the soil. This showed that the seed bank of Ulex europaeus is quite abundant, even at great depths, a factor that facilitates its invasive dynamics in the Tominé reservoir.
