This work illustrates the process of adaptation of the Concerto in A major Opus 30 by Mauro Giuliani for estudiantina format, due to the need of having a version that can be interpreted more easily by acoustic guitar students in the country, because of the use of local instruments such as the tiple and the bandola, of wide diffusion and practice in different contexts. A methodology was proposed with a focus on the consultation and documentation of historical aspects of the format for which it is adapted and biographical aspects of the composer of the work, in addition to conducting interviews for the construction of the criteria of affectation of the same. According to the documentation carried out, it is concluded that it is essential to have clear and well-oriented criteria of affectation of a work by historical consultations, in addition to the opinions of experts in composition and adaptation of works for formats of this type.
