Vehicular bridges are common structures worldwide and Bogota is no exception. There are more than 350 vehicular bridges across the city and several of them evidence structural damage on their joints. The state of the bridges decay with time and such decay depends on several factors including heavy traffic, wind currents, tectonic movements, among others. In order to monitor these structures there are diferent SHM systems (Structural Health Monitoring). This paper aims to have a preliminary SHM system using the emmbeded MEMS accelerometers in the Smarthphones.
