As a diagnostic mechanism for the ecological restoration of areas disturbed by grazing, the expansion of the agricultural frontier and the plantations of exotic species, among others, this book presents the characterization of the vegetation, the seed bank and the limiting, stressing and enhancing factors on the El Pensil farm, Pirineos Bajo village, municipality of San Bernardo (Cundinamarca, Colombia). In this research, coverage zoning was carried out in order to define the sampling units. For the vegetation characterization phase, sampling units are prepared according to the vegetation coverage; In addition, plant samples were collected for taxonomic determination and diversity estimation was carried out. To characterize the seed bank, spatial heterogeneity was considered, the samples were put to germinate, the seedlings of each species and the respective taxonomic determination was made. For soil characterization, samples will be taken and their most representative physicochemical properties will be identified. Finally, for the identification of the factors. Limiters, stressors and enhancers for restoration, the conditions of the disturbance will be considered, as well as those areas that are preserved.
