This document corresponds to research carried out in the internship: "Gender equity and equal opportunities for men and women in the field of higher education". Of the gender and democratic culture working group and the Francisco José de Caldas district university (UDFJC). The research project is structured in different phases and oriented to the need to include a policy with a gender focus in the Francisco José de Caldas district university (UDFJC). Also, to promote a shift towards equal opportunities between men and women, taking into account national and international norms and global trends in favor of gender equality in tertiary education; With women having the greatest disadvantages in higher education compared to their male "peers", the low or no participation of women in management positions in universities and research groups, the horizontal segregation according to the fields of knowledge, Discrimination, sexual and symbolic violence. Therefore, this research project seeks to recognize the different projects, good practices and co-managers, which focus on gender equality and equity between men and women in higher education institutions.
