This degree work of Master of Communication and Education, is a research on the problem of reading and writing in the cycle V, media education, in the CODEMA IED and Brasilia Bosa IED. The core of the problem pointed to cause affection and commitment to the practices of reading and writing from the use of prison texts. So called, in this research, a group of literary texts produced by men and women in prison. In the present work, fundamental thesis that oriented research, development process and general results that have to do with the proposals implemented in the educational, will be shown
