This work is a small sample of the research areas in which it is possible to work at the Universidad Distrital F.J.C. using the Raman microscope into the optical characterization laboratory. Here the basic elements - theoretical and experimental - are developed for those who are also beginning to be interested in vibrational spectroscopy. Among some other topics, the bibliographic review summarized here goes from a brief history of spectroscopy to the explanation of the physical foundations and the nature of the Raman effect, going through the description of molecular vibrations from a classical point of view and an annotation to quantum level. Finally, the practice is in three cases of application of vibrational analysis of the degradation of commercial levothyroxine, in geological samples for the identification of minerals and graphene as a coating on Cu.
