In this document, firstly, the works that have given solutions to specific problems in underwater photography and, secondly, the effects present in underwater images with their respective causes are presented and stated. On the other hand, the performance of the results obtained by each author is evaluated, through the analysis of tone and luminance histograms, and measures of image quality without reference. Finally, an algorithm that compensates for color loss in underwater images is proposed and its performance is analyzed in the same way as previously mentioned.
