The main objective of this research was to characterize the relationships, interactions, and impacts between football and politics in Colombia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, through a qualitative analysis of discourse of various documents and materials related to football and politics in Colombia during this period. Specific objectives included analyzing how interactions between football and politics are presented and discussed in the press during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Colombia, identifying the influence of football on the social and political landscape in Colombia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup through the analysis of the press, and determining which political events had a direct impact on football during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Colombia through the analysis of the press and other relevant documents.
