Estrategia de trabajo para la mejora de tratamiento de datos geográficos en el proyecto catastro de infraestructura de Ecopetrol: un enfoque en la identificación y gestión de la infraestructura
ECOPETROL, Colombia's largest energy company, is undertaking a project to improve the management of its oil infrastructure. The project, called the Infrastructure Cadastre, will collect and organise information on all of the company's assets, such as pipelines, processing plants and refineries. This information will be stored in a geographic information system (GIS) that will allow ECOPETROL to make better decisions about maintenance, investment and expansion of its infrastructure. The project faces several challenges, including the lack of organisation and standardisation of existing data. To address these challenges, ECOPETROL contracted INGICAT to clean and standardise the data. INGICAT is using a variety of techniques, including photo-interpretation and the creation of an action domain, to ensure that the data are accurate and consistent. Once the data has been cleaned and standardised, it will be visualised in a tool developed in Google Data Studio, which will provide ECOPETROL with a dashboard that will allow it to visualise the progress of the project and make informed decisions about the management of its infrastructure. Overall, the Infrastructure Cadastre is an important project that will help ECOPETROL improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its petroleum infrastructure management. The project will use state-of-the-art GIS technologies to collect, organise and analyse data on the company's assets. This information will help ECOPETROL make better decisions about the maintenance, investment and expansion of its infrastructure.
