This project shows fundamental tools that justify and reaffirm the need for community participation in conservation and reforestation projects, providing elements of understanding of the reality of the participatory process of rural communities in environmental issues, since ignorance, loss of the environmental culture and the perception of the natural environment of the significant communities in the loss of water resources, evidencing the relevant link between environmental education and the conservation and management of these, Community in the project (ESCA) of conservation and reforestation of the Los Manzanos hydrographic basin in the vereda El Chilcal (Bojacá, Cundinamarca) during the period 2017-2018, under the methodology of participatory action research (IAP). The results indicate that the environmental perception of the community influences the relationships that the community establishes with its environment; It also establishes that the community moves away from the concept of the environment, as an interconnected system, where human beings influence directly, limiting the understanding of the consequences of their actions on environmental issues.
