In recent years, the increase in population in urban areas has led to greater challenges for architecture. At the national level, special attention has been paid to urban areas because the population living in urban centers in 2017 represented 78% of the total population and it is estimated that by 2035 it will increase to 83% ( DNP, 2017). This increase leads to the creation of phenomena such as Urban Heat Islands, which has been studied in cities such as Bogotá, finding that temperatures can be 3°C higher than in the periphery or rural area (Ángel, Ramírez, & Domínguez, 2010). , as well as the relationship with the decrease in air quality with annual average records above the regulations (IDEAM, 2021). This is why the implementation of green roofs or terraces is proposed as a solution. This is how this project develops the technical characteristics necessary for the installation of a green roof for the case study of the Casablanca 33 Residential Complex located in the town of Kennedy, framed in economic efficiency and the improvement of the quality of life in terms environmental for its residents.
