The entities and companies responsible for generating impacts on the environment and on human beings have had different responses to environmental challenges, one of which is to respond to the crisis and integrate environmental management into the general administration of the company through a well-defined Environmental Management System (EMS). Currently, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism uses the EMS as part of the management system to develop and implement the environmental policy, based on pollution prevention and continuous improvement of environmental performance. This work supported the implementation of the activities corresponding to MinComercio's Environmental Management Subsystem. The project was developed through three methodological phases: current situation, design and planning, and execution, review and presentation of results. With respect to the calculation of Greenhouse Gas emissions generated by the organization, the five stages of the Design Thinking process were used. The internship included the implementation of a methodological tool that allowed the quantification of GHG emissions generated by the organization, with the purpose of establishing long-term goals and minimum measures to achieve carbon neutrality and thus strengthen the EMS. Different activities were also carried out to strengthen the organization's environmental management and performance.
