Science education must train for the critical and should allow young people, in our case teachers in training of the program of Degree in Chemistry, be aware that the intervention in society is necessary and posible, in order to get a change to improve collectively; to achieve this we are founded on scientific controversies since their use is essential for the analysis of the formation, evolution and evaluation of scientific theories, It is an appropriate means to provide adequate description of the history and practice of science, resulting in a better understanding of scientific dynamics. Thus is presented a proposal to allow to the understanding of science and its teaching, based on the scientific controversy and supported in their relations with the nature of science, through the links of science with the historical, social and cultural contexts.
