A relationship between core strength and balance has been found, but there are no studies in the context of musical theatre that evaluate the relationship between these factors and complex movements like the Pirouette. Aim: To determine the relationship between core strength and balance with performance in the Pirouette in students from Universidad del Rosario. Methodology: Population: 14 students (11 women and 3 men). Type of study: Observational analytical study. Instruments: Performance of the Pirouette: Pirouette test proposed in the current research; Core evaluation: McGill and Prone Plank Test (PPT); Balance evaluation: Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT). Statistics: Descriptive and correlational analysis, approved by the ethics committee. Results: A moderate to strong negative correlation of -.529 was found between the percentage of asymmetry in the prone plank test and the Pirouette score; Two positive correlations of .413 and .468 were found between the SEBT reach scores and the Pirouette score; A negative correlation of -.408 was found between the McGill test comparison ratios and the Pirouette score. Conclusions: The correlations indicated that lower core muscle asymmetry and better balance are associated with better Pirouette performance. This study provides a baseline for creating specific training to enhance performance in this population.
