The objective of the research is to identify the course that the laboratory should take in the future to adjust to the changes and which is the most appropriate proposal according to the demand, the environment and its internal structure which will help to favor the successful results and their continuity over time. The research presents a review of the literature on strategic planning models in different companies. Strategic planning is a process of diagnosis, method, analysis and decision making of an organization. The benefits of the planning are duly documented academically, the current panorama of the laboratory is shown, the strategic matrices are applied, the results obtained allow to identify that, to greater realization of formal strategic planning, the laboratory is favored above all in terms of innovation in products and services, followed by innovation in operational processes and finally in its administration. The conclusion of the strategic planning model will help the continuity of the business, jointly achieve the goals that are proposed, plan what is going to be done, where to go and make your wishes come true.
