Influencia de la fibra de caña seca y húmeda en un 3% adicionada a un concreto convencional, comparando la resistencia a compresión y tensión indirecta
Based on the implementation of natural fibers in the construction and use of sugarcane fiber waste, this project analyzes the mechanical behavior of compression and indirect tension, through proposed typologies, based on the method established by Diego Sánchez De Guzmán, a respective mix design for a resistance of 3000 psi is carried out, taking as a settlement a medium consistency being 5 to 10 cm, results obtained with the tests of cement density, density and absorption, unit mass and grain size for thin and thick aggregates. Twelve cylindrical specimens of (10 cm) 4 ”in diameter and (20 cm) 8” in length were executed, divided into 3 typologies, 4 cylinders for the standard sample, 4 cylinders composed of the fibers of dry sugarcane classified as a mixture (type 1), a pre-drying is done to the dry fibers, these are exposed to the sun for 5 days, 4 cylinders composed of the sugar cane fiber with the natural moisture content (type 2), the fiber will be added to the 3% cylindrical compound with respect to the weight of the cement, at 7 and 14 days of curing process, the respective calculations are made to compare the types of mixing, submitting 2 cylinders of standard sample, 2 cylinders Type 1, 2 cylinders Type 2, to the compressive strength test of normal concrete cylinders governed by NTC 673 and this same division of cylindrical specimens to the test to determine the indirect tensile strength of cylindrical specimens of concrete governed by NTC 722. Based on these results, it is recognized that cane fiber in concrete minimizes its weight and density, where dry fiber behaves better in compressive strength than moisture fiber and in the test of Indirect tension behaves better than moisture fiber than dry fiber, but these do not behave better than the standard sample
