Abusive burns are a significant proportion of cases of violence against pediatric patients worldwide. The identification of clinical elements suggesting a non-accidental cause in pediatric burns is likely to be apprehended through telematic means of information, including learning platforms known as e-learning. The present work constitutes an e-learning proposal on burns, emphasizing the identification and management of those of abusive origin in the pediatric population. With this objective, four activities were carried out: 1. Bibliographic review of principles for the design of e-learning proposals which served to formulate the theoretical framework, that is, the conceptual approach of the module; 2. Bibliographic review of abusive burns in the pediatric population focused on their clinical identification from the perspective of abuse, which condenses the scientific production on the subject, which in addition to the clinical experience of one of the authors constitutes the knowledge bases that we want to share with the participants; 3. Creation of an educational material and its virtualization through the e-learning tools of the National University of Colombia; 4. A synthesis of the pedagogical process for the author of this final work, based on the reflections and conclusions on the process of elaboration and development of the learning module. The contents and developments of the learning module will be implemented as part of the extension course: “Physical abuse: characterization, epidemiology and implications, detection and prevention, diagnosis, police and protection research and comprehensive intervention”, of which the subject on inflicted burns will be the second module of that course. This initiative is going to be implemented by the Vice-Dean of Research and Extension of the Faculty of Medicine and previously an administrative procedure and approval has been made from the Advisory Sub-Committee of the Department of Pediatrics and the Council of the Faculty of Medicine. The course, of which the burn module is part, is aimed at professionals involved in the care of pediatric patients victims of abuse and the protection system.
