Soil quality is related to fertility and its ability to provide nutrition to plants reflected in a high production potential. This study consisted of evaluating and analyzing the quality of the soil as an indicator of fertility from physicochemical properties, using the quantitative research method. Following a structure that started with a general objective: Evaluate the physical and chemical properties of the soil in the five subregions of the department of Sucre using soil quality as an indicator of fertility and a tool to propose management of gestion of soil; The methodological procedure carried out included the taking of 200 soil samples at a depth of 30 centimeters (cm) included in the first 3 horizons, to perform a descriptive exploratory analysis (minimum, maximum, mean and standard deviation values), assumption testing of normality and homogeneity of variance, Pearson correlation analysis, principal component analysis (PCA) using the R software, this in order to comply with the specific objective one , to comply with the objective two the calculation was made of the soil quality index (ICS) using the simple additive method, assigning unique values to each physicochemical variable using a weighted average, while the fulfillment of the specific objective three part of the results of the objective one and two for propose management guidelines based on what was found; The main finding found was the high fertility indicator equivalent to ICS (0.72), obtained from the equation used
