This paper deals with an analysis of the historical and legal evolution of beekeeping activity and the impact on consumers in the city of Barranquilla. For this purpose, the work is carried out using the applied method, of qualitative cut, with a socio-legal typology, focusing on the observation and description of the main elements that make up each part of this study. Consequently, the background and the regulatory framework of the beekeeping activity in Colombia are reviewed, the regulatory development that regulates beekeeping in Colombia compared to other producing countries is compared, the legal mechanisms for the protection of the rights of consumers of bee products are described and the perception of the bee market of producers and consumers in Barranquilla is analyzed.
