Diseño de un sistema de barreras vivas para el control de olores ofensivos provenientes del sector porcícola, en la comunidad Corocito del resguardo indígena Wacoyo, Puerto Gaitán-Meta
This document was prepared to guide the implementation of living barriers, using management and soil conservation techniques for forest crops in order to maximize and integrate the benefits resulting from them, especially the mitigation of odor resulting from pig activity, in the community Corocito of the Wacoyo indigenous reservation, Puerto Gaitan, Meta. Even though this work has been developed for the above mentioned location, it can be perfectly used for other sectors and even for other purposes, selecting species with similar characteristics ecologically adapted to other regions. The techniques proposed to the community were developed for different objectives such as the implementation of living barriers, permanent preservation areas (PPAs), legal reserves (RLs) and other plant formations in wastewater treatment plants (WTS). For the impact generated by offensive odours, the sensory panel methodology was analysed and implemented. The application of the technical standard NTC 6012-1 Effects and Evaluation of Odours and the wind rose by means of the Worlplot program, this gives us an idea about the predominant direction of the wind, by means of a psychometric evaluation of the odour nuisance, through a form applied to 100 members of the shelter that were selected from the simple random sample model, which is recognized as the odours coming from the Aliar S company. A (pig farming) affect and compromise the quality of life of the Corocito community of the Wacoyo indigenous reservation. The design is proposed for the implementation of a live fence with plants that, due to their soil and climate characteristics, are adapted to the sector, such as: herbaceous, arboreal and others. Finally, with the strategy of dissemination through workshops, the indigenous community and Aliar S.A. are made aware of the benefits of the implementation of the living barrier as a strategy for the control of offensive odors.
