Risk management implies carrying out the development of different projects and processes which, through their execution, serve as a measure of prevention, mitigation and reduction of the threat or vulnerability of natural or anthropic risks that are found in a territory. The city of Villavicencio has the Risk Management Office "OGR" which works in coordination with the National Disaster Risk Management System "SNGRD" to establish permanent measures and actions required in risk management. The threats due to natural disasters that the city presents are fires in the summer season, flooding or mass removal in the winter season, the vulnerability of occurrences of seismic events due to being located in an area of great tectonic activity and the threat of anthropic disasters that pose risks to the population. Due to this, the Risk Management Office, among the actions and measures it carries out, together with INGEOMINAS, is carrying out the seismic microzoning study of the city of Villavicencio, which will be a tool for planning the city in terms of earthquake resistant design of buildings and infrastructure in general. On the other hand, knowledge of risk, risk reduction, disaster management and recovery of the city is developed through joint actions by the municipal administration, the private sector, academia and the community itself. From the academy, technical support is provided for said projects, measures and/or actions carried out by the office aimed at managing risks or disasters through the student's business practice. In accordance with the above, this document evidences the activities or functions performed by the student, the lessons learned during the business practice process, as well as contributions and recommendations aimed at the strategic plan of the office.
