This document serves as an introduction to code-based post-quantum cryptography for readers with no prior knowledge of cryptography or coding theory. The first chapter contains an introduction to cryptography from classical to post-quantum. The second chapter contains an introduction to the theory of error correcting codes, which introduces linear, cyclic, QC-MDPC, and Goppa codes. The third chapter contains an introduction to code-based post-quantum cryptography including the original McEliece cryptosystem and NIST's PQS candidate BIKE-1.
