This project exposes the characterization of the leather goods and leather sector in the center of the Cauca Valley, aims to make a characterization of the leather goods and leather sector of the city of Tuluá. For this characterization, it will be supported with information from the Chamber of Commerce of the municipality and other documents that provide accurate data for the development of the project. This project is of great importance in the sectors of the economy, since through it is possible to identify weaknesses and threats faced in the sector. Companies in the leather and leather sector are in need of improving their production processes and the quality of their products, all with a view to increasing their productivity and competitiveness before the market. It is for this reason that the need to adapt the integrated information systems is born, in order to provide support to the economic development of the companies. In order to carry out this characterization, surveys were carried out with the purpose of gathering information, where they were applied to each of the companies in their different areas. At the end of this document we will see recommendations and suggestions for strategies that will allow companies to modify and improve their production systems, quality and marketing, thus generating greater business profitability.
