In this work, a laboratory guide was elaborated to carry out the resonant column test using the TSH-100 equipment located in the soil mechanics laboratory of the Santo Tomás University, through this test, it is possible to measure some dynamic properties of soils at low strains, such as shear modulus (G) and damping (D). Generalities of the theory of soil dynamics and of the resonant column test are presented as an introduction for researchers who wish to venture into this topic. As an introduction to the resonant column test, generalities of the ASTM D4015-15 standard are presented, which covers test methods for the determination of shear modulus (G) and shear damping (D) using resonant column devices, characteristics of the equipment, samples and configurations to be used during the test. The TSH-100 equipment, available in the soil mechanics laboratory of Santo Tomás University for the resonant column test, is presented and described, starting with a detailed description of its parts and connectors, and continuing with detailed explanations and illustrative of its use. For this, emphasis was placed on the methodological process of conducting the test, dividing it into the processes of disassembling the equipment, recovering a sample, assembling a sample, assembling the equipment and obtaining data. In each process of description in detail and illustrative the procedure to follow. The procedure to follow for the calibration of the equipment was described, as well as the theory necessary to understand the calibration process. Finally, annexes are a photographic record of the assembly of a sample and assembly of the equipment, an inventory of the equipment, its components and available spare parts, in addition, a format for data recording before, during and after the resonant column test. , as well as a log to control the use of the equipment.
