The need of companies to have an added value, reduce operation expenses of their buildings (energy and water), improve their image to promote themselves, and increase the productivity of the occupants in the facilities prompt them to obtain a LEED certification. In order to improve its image, have energy efficiency in its building and improve its productivity, Electrificadora del Huila S.A E.S.P. opted to achieve LEED V.3 2009 certification. To verify the points obtained in this certification, information was collected about the project such as minutes of meetings, preliminary energy model report of the new El Bote-Electrohuila Ecological Complex Building and the final report. In addition, a visit was made to the Complejo Ecológico El Bote building located in the municipality of Palermo (Huila), based on the LEED certification checklist, comparing it with the implementation of the certification, identifying the level of this certification, collecting the information provided by the person in charge of the subject and observing the current status of this construction, considering the energy, water, waste management, materials used for the construction and the technical data sheets of the building and its equipment, it is concluded that the building currently lacks in the presentation of its technical information, solid waste management, efficient use of water consumption and incentives for the use of bicycles to go to the site; For this reason, this document presents some proposals to improve these shortcomings, increase the score obtained and have a higher economic productivity.
