In the world of education and employment, the concept of "competencies" continues to be implemented more and more, making institutions and educational entities build a curriculum based on the development of "competences" that allow them to train students with the knowledge, abilities, skills and values that the productive sector of the sport is requiring. The present research project proposes a revision of the concepts focused on labor competencies from the basic knowledge base of the administration, in order to carry out a comparative analysis of the curriculum of the sports administration program of the Francisco José de Caldas District University with others academic programs in countries such as Mexico and Spain, whose development in competency-based training topics are at the forefront, in short it seeks to identify which competencies are required by the current work world, in this sense, when the professional profile of the administrator is contrasted sports of the District University with other professional profiles correlated previously, will allow us tobuild a series of hypotheses about the current status of the professional profile that is sought by the academic program of sports management.
