PROPUESTA DE UNA POLÍTICA PÚBLICA PARA DISMINUIR LA PREVALENCIA DE LAS ENFERMEDADES CRÓNICAS NO TRASMISIBLES EN EL MUNICIPIO FRONTERIZO DE OCAÑA, NORTE DE SANTANDER
Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases (CNCD) constitute a public health problem that affects most nations and generates a significant impact on vulnerable populations. Currently, they are the main cause of morbidity and mortality in Colombia. Based on the foregoing, a Public Policy proposal for comprehensive care was developed to reduce the prevalence of CNCD in the municipality of Ocaña, Department of Norte de Santander. For the development of this proposal it was necessary to analyze the current health situation of the population of the municipality of Ocaña, in addition, a description of the risk factors that affect the public health of the population of the municipality was made. Subsequently, a public policy proposal was formulated that seeks to strengthen comprehensive care and actions in public health for the prevention of CNCD in the population of this municipality. Through this proposal, it was possible to demonstrate the importance of CNCD as a relevant public health problem for the municipality of Ocaña. The available information shows that among the causes of morbidity and mortality, cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus and respiratory diseases stand out, which represent a high burden of disease and disability at the local level. In addition, access to quality health services, specialized in the management of CNCD, as well as the culture of self-care through a healthy diet and the adoption of favorable behaviors for health, are the commitment of this proposal. This public policy proposal seeks to strengthen the following issues: Formulation of strategies that favor the construction of healthy lifestyles and better healthy environments, which contribute to the prevention of risk factors for CNCD.
