Análisis de sostenibilidad ambiental del relleno sanitario Doña Juana, en la cuenca del rio Tunjuelo a través de la metodología IICA para la determinación de la huella hídrica
The objective the study is to present the relationship between leachates from Dona Juana landfill and calculate gray water footprint, through the estimation and analysis of 21 environmental parameters (such as metals, metalloids, and physicochemical aspects), collected in the Tunjuelo river basin. The calculation of the gray water footprint was made using the Methodological Guide for the Evaluation of the Water Footprint in a Hydrographic Basin (IICA, 2017), considering the identification and characterization of waste disposal into Doña Juana landfill. As a result, the value of gray water footprint in Tunjuelo´s basin was 325.258 m3/L.... The estimation of Doña Juana landfill gray water footprint was developed from an academic approach, however, as a tool for monitoring and control of waste water effluents, it can promote and support the sustainable use of water resources and the identification and characterization of several environmental parameters in the objective basin (Río Tunjuelo) for a period of eleven months. It was found that the values obtained in the present study are NCA compliant, but it is not conclusive because of the scarce information Finally, this document looks forward to providing the basis to analyze the application the IICA Methodology, to have a better understanding on water management and contribution to best practices of a proper use of this natural resource into the basin.
