Colombia is emblematic in the study of conflict, criminality, and terrorism: a low to middle-income country that faced leftist insurgent groups (mainly the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, FARC) in one of the longest civil wars in recent history. This conflict lasted for more than five decades and presented a high degree of complexity: in addition to the confrontation between insurgents and the state, there was violent mobilization by some sectors of society against FARC via warlords and paramilitary groups, such as the United
