The objective of this text is to analyze in the work of Aníbal Quijano, since 1990 until now, the construction of latin-american identities and othernesses, through the concepts coloniality and coloniality of power. In the first section of this text, it is established the entrance to the dynamics identity-otherness in the “decolonial” theory of the author. In the second section, there are pointed out some conceptual problems in such dynamics developing the question of race and sex.
