The genus Neostrengeria Pretzmann, 1965, comprises a group of small pseudothelphusid crabs inhabiting mountain streams in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia. The systematics of the genus were established by Rodriguez (1982) and its geographical distribution has been discussed by Campos & Rodriguez (1985). Examination of material collected during a recent survey along the Eastern Cordillera revealed the presence of six new species and one new subspecies within the previously known distribution of the genus.
