A33 CLINICAL ASTHMA I: Characterization Of Patients With Severe Acute Asthma, Managed In The Intensive Care Unit In A University Hospital Reference In Latin America
Results: There were 60 severe asthma attacks admissions to intensive care units from 2011 to 2012. The mean of age was 45 years with predilection for women (78%). Twenty three percent received inhalotherapy only, 48% were treated with non-invasive mechanical ventilation and 29% with invasive mechanical ventilation support. Thirty seven percent and 25% received systemic steroids previously to the asthma attack in the non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation groups respectively compared to none in the inhalotherapy
