Carcinoid tumors are relatively rare. In a series of 35.618 neuroendocrine tumors of the the incidence of primary National Cancer Institute non-pancreatic tumors was 4.7 per 100.000 with higher incidence for African-Americans than for Caucasians, and men than in women (4.97 vs 4.49 per 100.000) with mean age of diagnosis at 63 years. There isn't statistics about pulmonary multifocal presentation, with only 7 case reports published in PubMed.
