Methods: We present a case of a newborn female, preterm at 32 weeks by Ballard Scale, very low birth weight (1350g), delivered by atraumatic C-section due to maternal severe preeclampsia. The newborn required mechanical ventilation, orogastric tube, and umbilical central catheterization at birth. 24 hours later she presented abdominal distention, pallor, severe anemia and shock state.
