Adsorption Calorimetry: A study of the oxidation of primary alcohols by catalytic metal/ceramic foam

Abstract:

Copper-based catalysts supported on ceramic foams synthesized from alumina which is modified by adding oxides of Rh and Pd have been studied in the partial oxidation process C1-C3 lineal alcohols to obtain the corresponding aldehydes. Metal-foam systems exhibit high catalytic properties, and mechanical properties and fluid better than what is presented in conventional samples with similar systems used by other metals. The modification with Rh and Pd oxides affect and improve the activity and selectivity of the catalysts Cu/ceramic foam
