Asia has become the main engine of world trade and is therefore at the heart of the trade strategy of Latin American countries, such as Peru, with the aim of intensifying its trade relations and attracting investment. In the case of Peru, the initial approach to Asia was to enter the APEC forum, and then to promote bilateral trade agreements. After that, Peru joined the Pacific Alliance and promoted the TPP.
