In the present work, a didactic strategy is developed and applied through the project Statistics of the “pruebas saber” from year 2017, which seeks to strengthen and develop higher levels of analysis, interpretation and comprehension of the concepts of arithmetic mean, mode, median, variance, standard deviation, quartiles and percentiles (descriptive measures). This work was developed with 120 students of cycle V (tenth grade) of La Salle School in Bogotá. The purpose of this project is to respond to the difficulties that have been evident in the students, in the analysis and interpretation of descriptive measures. For its planning, emphasis was placed on project work, therefore, different activities were designed in context based on data of interest, thus achieving greater motivation, and participation. The results of this work were analyzed qualitatively and statistically by comparing the initial diagnostic test and the final test, which was applied after the project was implemented. Once the results were analyzed, a positive effect of the didactic strategy was evident.
