The lane “La Rapida” located in the municipality of San Antonio at Tequendamain; it has a ravine called “Las Quinas”, this ravine is the only source of supply to the village’s dwellers. Unfortunately, water quality has negative aspects due to ineffective water purification treatment process that has its aqueduct, and polluting factors present in the water source. Due the disadvantage at the ravine water fountain, the general objective of this project was to design a system of direct filtration process, through the design of a rapid sand filter, as a unitary process to improve water quality.
