The purpose of this document is to address the subject of competency management, where the most relevant elements that have been addressed by a series of authors will be presented, thus seeking to develop a theoretical framework that allows a greater understanding of its characteristics and advantages. for organizations, selection under the competence approach. Organizational development is not only based on excellent administrative processes, but also on the develo pment of a series of organizational competencies, which are acquired thanks to the procedure of job descriptions and the definition of competencies, which can be applied in the selection, training and performance evaluation processes. Bearing in mind that there is no competency management manual for organizational development, if a series of elements has been formulated that will allow organizations to achieve greater competitiveness and better positioning in an increasingly complex market, thanks to the contribution that each one of its collaborators offers thanks to the skills that each one possesses.
