This article explores the application of the macro-ergonomic approach in small and medium-sized companies. The interest lies in recognizing the importance that organizations give to macro-ergonomics as a discipline that allows for orga nizational coordination. The study highlights methods, strategies and actions developed from a macro-ergonomic perspective, proposed between 2014 and 2020. The review was carried out in databases such as: SCOPUS and WEB OF SCIENCE; summary databases: EBSCO, ProQuest, SciELO, Redalyc, Oxford, Dialnet and E-MAGAZINE, books with editorial evaluation; In addition, search criteria such as: macro-ergonomics, macro-ergonomic models, ergonomics, design of work environments, all associated with fields such as: administration, business and industry, were used. 55 articles of pure, applied, review and reflec tion research were found, however only 32 were included in the analysis, which shows that macroergonomics is a useful strategy in the organization, despite this, less than 3% of the results are studies carried out in small and medium-sized companies and less 4% studies in Colombia.
