Two cases of infectious panniculitis caused by the fungi Histoplasma capsulatum in two autoimmune diseases: systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and dermatomyositis (DM) are presented. Both had severe systemic activity of baseline disease and were immunosuppressed with highdose steroids. The first signs were fever and nodular skin lesions. Skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis.
